January 13th Sketch

Although I love sunflowers, my favorite are the Rudbeckias.  Their longer petals just look so graceful extending out from the center dark brown to black cone.  Come fall, I love watching the birds feed off the seeds.

This is primarily worked using a Micron 005 but then added a few darker lines with a Pitt F point trying to lift the upper petals from the bottom.

I think your drawing has grown in the past year. Do you agree? Your journal pages are so well organized that I think some publisher would be interested in a "how to Journal..." type of book from you. Your efforts on FaceBook really encourage people.

Lee.....I truly appreciate your comment and vote of confidence. I hope I'm improving. One thing I do notice is my confidence level is growing a little more. I'm not as squeamish to lay ink on paper as I used to be and not as afraid to try subjects outside my comfort zone. I still feel I have a ways to go though ;-)
