After struggling and feeling like I botched the porcelain doll's face yesterday, I decided to challenge myself with an actual face...............me as the model.
I am one who avoids having my pictures taken. And taking selfie pictures is just not my thing. In fact when I took this selfie, I felt really stupid and the expression here definitely portrays that.........LOL But I wanted to challenge myself so I took the selfie.........hair pulled back and all messed up...............me in the raw :-)
All in all I didn't do too bad of a job. In fact everyone who's seen this definitely says it's me. But there's still room for improvement and I may make this an ongoing challenge until I feel more confident in what I'm doing.

This is great, Susan. You show a lot of expression in your face, but I don't see it at all as a "feeling stupid" look. :-)
I identify with not wanting your picture taken and avoiding selfies. My self-sketches end up being rather edited--no frown lines included! I'm always amazed by people, like Roz Stendahl and Koosje Koene, who are so comfortable sketching their own faces that they don't even seem to mind when they come out looking like caricatures with exaggerated features. I am definitely not one of them.
Thank you so much Susan :-)
I don't remember seeing Roz's selfies but I do Koosje's. I admire both of those ladies and their work I'm familiar with. Funny but when I took one of their online courses that had us doing selfies.........I couldn't do that.....LOL
