Sketch Outing with Friends - Lone Oak Cemetery

Three of us went to Leesburg oldest cemetery called Lone Oak Cemetery to sketch.  This cemetery is full of history dating way back.

One of the stones we came across is marked George Alfred Widdas - supposedly Bill Cody and Annie Oakley's gunsmith.

I love your sketch! Our DFW Urban sketcher's group had an outing at the oldest cemetery in Ft. Worth. We recognized many names as the founding families of Ft. Worth. Old cemeteries are very interesting!

Thank you :-) I'd definitely like to go back to this particular cemetery. Just love the old stones. Many cemeteries these days have moved away from above ground markers........at least in areas I used to live. When in the UK, I loved going to their cemeteries because of all the beautiful shapes and sizes of stones.
